4*60.... my two Hitec Optic 6s' batteries cannot be cycled while in the TX. There is a diode inside that doesn't allow me to do it, so the packs have to be removed.
I swapped out the stock 600 mah on mine for 1500 NIMH packs. I put a JST female end on the battery and made a small jumper lead with the Optic6 connector and a male JST lead. Now I just disconnect the two JST leads and I can cycle my packs out of the TX. This way I am not fiddling with the original Optic 6 connection that attaches to the circuitry as that can be a pain to connect and disconnect.

Cheers

Re: Hitec tx battery

4*60, that's right, it is the battery plug.Aparently is used more for mini RC cars (Duratrax has one).I hope I can find it at LHS, doesn't worth to order it online. If not, just make one myself, out of servo pins and plugs that I have.Faster that having it shipped from somewhere.

Thanks for inputs.

Re: Hitec tx battery

I have three or four chargers that will peak charge through the tx on an Optic 6, but I was pointing out battery connectors not the external tx connector.
Have a good week

Re: Hitec tx battery

Incidentaly, I found the solution, and very simple.
While I was handling some ather charging tasks, among the other cables/adaptors I have, it was a male JST conector, missing the housing ( pins exposed). It looked apealing ...and, lucky me, it's perfect fit, pins wise.
Job done ( actually, is in process...)

Yep, i use the same thing, it was some left over parts from some GWS motors and that male plug does fit my Optic battery just fine.

Re: Hitec tx battery

I use old computer connector for charging Eclipse TX battery outside transmitter. Some soldering and no more.
