Secondary power for HABU rx

Hi Gang,

A friend of mine just lost a jet yesterday midflight. We believe it may have been an ESC failure. It was a Freewing F-15.

I am wondering if its possible to add a power source to my receiver as a backup in case the esc or battery fails?

At the moment in my HABU i am fully stock with the addition of a Spektrum AR-6200 Receiver. While I have it connected as normal can I also connect to the battery/bind port another smaller battery without causing damage to electronics? My idea of this is that the smaller battery whilst being connected would be there supplying receiver with power while the main battery is doing the same job. In the event that the main battery fails causing comms and power loss the second battery on rxer would still allow me to bring her down without thrust.

sure! just add a seperate BEC powered by a small battery that has the voltage capacity to allow you the 30+ secounds needed to land.

The Freewing is actually a nice flying parkflyer. Unfortunately, the stock ESC is
garbage and you must replace it with a better quality 30 Amp esc such as Dynam
or Turnigy Plush for example.
