Greatly appreciated Scott. Perhaps one day I'll write a bit about all the good, bad, and ugly of 29 years in the military. Certainly the funny stuff, and the people. Man, some incredible people that I've had the privilege of serving with.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Popped in after work today, sanded down the spinner, and put one more coat of resin on. We're using MAS brand marine epoxy resin. Tomorrow, I'll sand that by hand, and then get the bondo out for some filling, hopefully we'll get that painted over the weekend. More big news, Saturday, wings finally get attached to the airplane! Lots of photos will be taken for that event!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

While I was visiting my sister in Dartmouth I got in a visit with Dave.

The replica Hurricane is going to be a work of art. Good on you Dave.

Thanks for the tour. Love to see the Canadian Aviation History where ever it is.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

I can't wait to retire, and hit every single aviation museum in North America! Great having you visit Richard, pleasure was all mine. Today, sanded down the spinner, and started getting thin layer of bondo on, hopefully by end of day tomorrow, it can be ready for paint. We're moving the outer wings tomorrow as well, and attaching them, have a work party ready to go, and Leeann will handle the photo duties. Everyone cross their fingers, this is going to be the biggest knuckle biter part of the entire build!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Drum roll please! We formed up the team today, tackled the left wing first, no issues at all getting it from one side of the museum to the other, and it slid into place super smooth. Right wing went just as well, and we probably had both wings transferred and attached in well under an hour! Rest of the day, worked on the spinner, and radiator, and Leeann finished and painted the left gear door. All in all, a great day!

Hey Max!

Just you wait until the Nose (W/prop) and Canopy are in place!

THEN! ...you'll see a piece of HISTORY!

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Hopefully I'll have the spinner done tomorrow, Tuesday they do the weight and balance, and next Saturday we'll most likely remove the wings. I'll do my best to get the props done, and at least the full canopy frame, and get some shots of that before things are taken apart till we are ready for the full unveiling.

Re: Really Giant Scale Hurricane

Perhaps a dumb question but why do you have to do a weight and balance check for a static display?
