Hello, it’s Will Howells here.. I have recently bought an AE RC8 1/8 buggy. I have no clue what a good set up would be for it. I was thinking of trying this.

Shocks losi F50wt R40wt
Springs. Stock
Clutch, no clue. Ultimate
Camber Front 2degres rear 1

Sway bar. Front none rear medium

Thank you for your input it is much appreciated.

Hey Will ! Go to AE form and cheack out what Brent (Team manager) has posted for set up there is a ton of things you can do. For starters I would go with 5k in all the diffs.

what rc squirt told me....it's the brand of oils you use in the shocks.5,000 all way around is great in that buggy it gives it a neutral setting try that first. I think AE is offering free big bores for the ae buggy. Tekno.

Rc8 setup for dan brown

The setup used by Dan Brown (Zoom Room) for the RC Pro series plus practice time every week.

Race roller setup exactly as per the manual with only minor adjustment to ride height and droop. Before you go modding and changing stuff run the car box stock.

Mike V. can tell you how he did as he has also seen him run.

The car really doesn't need that much tweak as other cars he's driven.

I've heard of the 5000/5000/5000 setup and was curious to try it. Sounds interesting.

The Farm set up will work but I am going to wait till I have the Big bores on. The set up is very similar to what the hole team runs, they keep all the cars very close to the same set up and it looks like the kick in the front is the main change for the farm(plus big bores). I just did the battery mod and steering mod and I am waiting to try it, hopfuly let you know in two weeks.

The battery mod and steering mod will make it a whole new car. It's good to start with, but it's much better with the mods. If you like alot of steering anyways. : )

I ran the team setups all last winter and this past summer. When I finally decided to do my own thing like I normally do I was kind of miffed to find out I like the hard springs all the way around. I'm not running the big bores yet either.

The car works great everywhere with 5/5/5 diffs. But don't be afraid to try 3/5/3 though if you are running indoors. Turns better, just have to watch the rear a little coming out of faster corners.

Also in the cold the team setups shock oils are to much. I run 30-35 most the time when it's colder. Honestly ya might even try a bigger piston. If you feel the suspension action on a car with the big bores you'll find it's much more plush than the stock shocks. Only way I can see to get that feel with the stockers is to lighten the damping.

For clutch, .9 springs are great. I like .8 indoors on small track. But .9 all around with aluminum shoes is a great everywhere setup with good wear on the shoes. 1.0 works good too, or a mix, but the .9 just easier to work with. And for replacement shoes google impulse rc for great product. Get the shoes and shims for 12 bux. Can't beat that. Plus they are threaded and include a grub screw so you can weight the shoes. Works so well ae actually copied what he has done and sells it as their own now. But no mistake, impulse came up with that idea.

My buggy will have everything done to it soon. I'm waiting on my rear BB and a few other parts. I don't like B/O'd items on orders.
