CompARF 35% Sukhoi / GP123 / ES Pipes

I decided to replace my 35% Pilot Yak55M with CompARF's newest 3D ship - the 107" Sukhoi.

CompARF makes 2 wings for this plane - a 103" for IMAC and a 107" for 3D. You can guess which wing-set I ordered

What a sweet, sweet airframe and feels really light. CompARF is now also finishing the fuse seams outside of the mould, so no nasty seamlines They've been doing this on all their new production including the jets - super nice to see and really finishes this off.

I'll be putting my trusty GP123 in this and will run the same ES Composite Pipes. I'm running the 29x9 Falcon but too small and will soon pick up a 29x9W from Jeff at ThunderBolt.

All servos will be full Futaba brushless - BLS172's and BLS177's all around. I have some new MKS777 servos coming and may put 1 on the rudder as a test.

I first have to tear down the 35% Pilot Yak55M (tonight ) - hope to get started on this by Wednesday this week.

I'm really excited about this one, Jack. They've really picked their quality up from my past one.

Very cool about the DA250 and the 2 options. Excited to see the performance gain and likely steeper offsetting loss to the wallet between those options.

Ya - They only have the yellow/black or this scheme. I wasn't a big fan of either based on the pictures but this one looks pretty good in person, despite being $100 more.

I debated getting one custom done, but it adds a lot to the already crazy price tag

If I was gonna fork out the money I would be getting that oversprayer dude to do up a custom scheme. He did some nice work!!

Re: CompARF 35% Sukhoi / GP123 / ES Pipes

Alright - here we go

I'm going with BLS177's in the elevators. These will run on SBUS2, so able to provide telemetry feedback to the 18MZ - excited to try them and see what the elevators servos go through!!

The linkage is 4mm threaded rod with an aluminum overtop for added stiffness

The arms are the 1.75" / 2" Secraft V2's - the 1.75" hole gives 110% servo travel.

Tons of throw - stoked about that

Re: CompARF 35% Sukhoi / GP123 / ES Pipes

A couple shots of the stabs done and fitted to the fuse. The stabs are held on with a screw through each stab into the stab tube - got that all done by Hysol'ing in a blind nut inside the tube

55deg of throw - should flip around really nice

Tomorrow AM I'll work on the rudder.
