Sorry for the delay Airnut. The Tutor is built from the RCM plans but is highly modified for improvements. Design by Mike Pastro of BC. It has a 60" w/s and is powered by a pumped TT 46 pro. Engine works flawlessly. Wings are sheeted foam cores.
Modifications:
1 - Elevator servo located directly under Fin where pushrod exits. Less slop.
2 - Snake was changed to a carbon version to prevent trim changes due to temperature changes.
3 - Carbon fibre tape added to stab to strengthen and stiffen it, preventing it from warping.
4 - Installed separate aileron servos with large throws to improve roll rate. This also allows for flaperon mixing and I use it to decrease takeoff roll. This works very well.
5 - Perry pump assisted fuel delivery.

All graphics were sized and compiled on the pc, but cut by hand from Monokote. This is a great flier now, and it flies like a trainer on low rates, but can perform most aerobatics that do not require a rudder. Just a fun flier. I had it at the GAFF event this year and many photos were posted at Great Hobbies GAFF coverage web pages.

Canadian...

Somehow my best buddies are fiercely Canadian, one of whom starts to foam at the mouth when he sees the ol' stars & bars on an aircraft. So when I build a model, I always look for an aircraft that was built, flown, owned, or otherwise associated with Canada's aviation. One buddy bulds and flies CF105s almost exclusively, all the rest of his models are sport with nondescript markings. The other builds German, Russian, Italian, Japanese, models: anything but American, and if he looks at a kit of a US aircraft, it is with the intention of using Chinese, Australian, Polish, Egyptian, whatever markings.

Myself, I have many models representing many countries, not many with US markings. What bothers me is the lack of kits from Canadian manufacturers in the smaller sizes. If I had the room/enthusiasm/ finances etc. for a 6' Beaver, I would be fine, so my GWS P51 is in Canadian trim, my Kyosho T33 is awaiting proper markings, but my GWS Tiger Moth has Brit markings.

But t really put you guys off, I'm gonna tell you that my latest project is Canadian, alright: a Model Craft Junior Commercial, one of the recommended Air Cadet models from the 40s, no engine, no radio, no Moneycote, no CA.... well, you get the idea. I plan to enjoy this truly Canadian model! :P

I've got an Airsail RCAF Chipmunk and the larger Unionville Norseman. Would like to do Unionville's 8' radial beaver eventually as well.
