Yup
BTW
I got my 14 bats today, customs delay but Fedex ok
it is cheaper and faster to ship Fedex from HK than Canada post in Canada, lesson learned.

Yes, from Luck A Lee
Ordered from Hobby King on Sunday, shipped Monday, slowed down for a day by customs in Canada and received on Thursday.

Hope to try some 180mah out in the Arrow, Axis and Click this weekend. Until now I had been primarily flying 450-460's in the Axis and Arrow BUT now that I have tried the difference in weight between a 250 and 450 I want less weight over longer flight.

Interested to see your results... power / 'punch' will be the interesting factor. I've used the 180's before and there's a line between weight savings and punch factor - ie. burst current capability.

That is, a 180 mAh 25C lipo can handle 0.180 * 25 = 4.5 A burst amps; whereas, a 450 mAh 25C lipo can handle 0.450 * 25 = 11.25 A burst.

So if your prop/motor combo is in line and your static full throttle current draw is below the 4.5 A then you should only notice the benefits of less weight. If, on the other hand, your static full throttle current draw is above that 4.5 A I think you'll see something in between loss of punch and the benefit of less weight.

Sorry for the ramble.... I'm just eager to hear back your results/impressions. Hoping, of course, that it works out positively.

Cheers,
J

Re: Blue Foamie

Thats exactly right. Was saying to Gaston I will build a lite version FoamStar but everytime i am heading that way it gets cancellef on me, grrrr.

Will post some info of all up weights with 180 and 250 bats as well as performance. I think 180 will need sub 130gram, 250 is awesome with sub 140 gram, fun to see.

Cheers

Re: Blue Foamie

Testing tonight with the following

FoamStar Axis dry weight 130 grams, very slightly lightened but built with too much glue. Built with hot melt glue.

RC Factory Click NG dry weight - 119 grams, a couple of medium ca joint repairs. Built with foam to foam and ca used for securing rods, attention given to quantity of glue used.

Nano Tech 180 25-40C, 13.25grams

Nano Tech 260 35-70C, 16.25 grams

Gens ace 450 25C, 27.6 grams, as a reference point for punch.
