i have a friend who has an older dave patrick extra 330, this is the " big " airplane that he learned on and i want to buy it now that he is moving on from it and he told me to make him an offer on it as he would like to see me enjoy it as much as he did. My problem is that i have no idea what i should offer to him, i don't really know what an older plane like that should go for all that i know is little 40 size plane kinda. i am having a hard time with this, especially because i like that plane alot, but have seen some great deals on new ones too that are all set up also. how should i handle this what in your experiance would be a reasonable offer? all advise will be appreciated. thanks in advance what should i do?

Re: dave patrick extra

I paid $225 for my DP Extra 330 for the airframe with all the linkages but no servos or power system.

That was my favorite plane that I've had to date. If I hadn't lost it I'd likely still be flying mine instead of my Wild Hare Sukhoi. It really flies awesome.

Re: dave patrick extra

Well, Its an older plane with no parts support. It is a goods design. Dave Patrick designed good stuff.
The way he is asking you for an offer, seems he would almost give it away. A pay it forward, since he knows its an older plane and no longer available.
To me it sounds like he wants something for it, but also has no idea what to ask for it.
He only wants something, so as to not just give it away.

I have flown that pane and I would say it is an incredible flier. You will like it and definitely get your money's worth.

If you know the guy and he likes you, offer $150. If not $200 would be reasonable and not insulting.
