G5 gas glow plug
Is the new G5 gas glow plug a reliable and effective alternate way to run gas ignition engines?!

Re: G5 gas glow plug
Hi, I have one of the OS GGT 15 gas motors (glow plug). I test ran the motor late last fall and my initial impression was it did not like the cold temps! Once I managed to get it running it ran strong. I hope to get the plane that I built for this motor (balsa kit built Dirty Birdi) going soon though. I'll try to post a report then.

Re: G5 gas glow plug
Does this G5 glow plug mean that I can take any .90-sized glow engine and immediately turn it into a gas engine simply by putting this G5 glow plug into it?

Re: G5 gas glow plug
I think it may be worth a try. There is a long thread on one of the other forums where a Norvel GX .40 is converted to gas with a turbo style plug, extra hot. The gas is mixed with 20% castor oil. Other oil mixes can be a problem with the rod bushing as they can heat up and seize which will snap off the crankpin. (it can happen with glow too) Head shims may have to be adjusted for a good run. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/glow...ow-engine.html Interestingly, some people are taking gas motors and mixing gas and glow fuel together to use a glow plug which allows them to dump all the weight of the ignition systems. There is a rather long thread on that too.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/engi...nition-51.html It uses a conversion plug adapter that uses a 1/4 32 plug into a gas sparkplug thread. 14 mm or whatever.
