Help - MOKI 1.8 setup
I've got a Great Planes Giant AEROMASTER Bipe, ARC. Very little info in the manual for 2 stroke install, but the kit came with a Moki 1.8, so naturally, I've got it setup for that. The tank position is relatively low, and well back from the firewall.
With the engine side mounted, I'm not drawing fuel worth a damn. If I mount it inverted, I'm concerned about it gravity feeding, and flooding. I do have a never used perry pump, but not too swept up on those. So, do I put the pump on, leave the engine side mounted? Or mount the engine inverted, with or without the pump? Help! |

Re: Help - MOKI 1.8 setup
I would install a Perry pump and use the Perry bypass circuit plumbing. This way the engine thinks the tank is only an inch or so from the carb. It depends where you put the bypass "T". No muffler pressure, just vent the tank to atmosphere.

What size fuel tubing are you using? I've had the best luck with medium, I know most people say these and the big Super Tigres need the large tubing but it never worked for me.

Dave, when I got that engine it had a pump. I never thought much about it. I still have it in the shop. I'm home all night, give me a call and you can swing by to get it.

Wayne, just read this, bit late to pop over, but will see about later in the week! Kip, great advice, I'll give that a try, before I think about inverting the engine!

Re: Help - MOKI 1.8 setup
Dave, let me know how the plane works out with the Moki. I have the same plane and need to repower. Original plan was a q52, but sent that one Sam's way.
