Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
I finished cutting out the ailerons and got everything edge sanded and ready for the trailing and leading edges.

Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
Next up was to do the hinge line bevels.
I remembered with my Edge lat winter, that the littel plastic razor plane worked great. But after a while it killed he hands because it was so small. So, yesterday I went to Canadian Tire and bout a hand plane. A bit bigger and easier to work with than the smaller plastic razor plane. It made the initial shaping much quicker. Than I used the smaller on to do the final passes to clean things up. Here are the 2 planes side by side. Then i made a jig to put the 1/2 inch balsa into so I could run the plane over it. Worked pretty good Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
And the 4 finished hinge stock ready to be glued onto the wing trailing edge and aileron leading edges.
Unfortunately, I found out I am out of masking tape So I couldn't glue the hinge stock on tonight Have to pick up a few rolls tomorrow. Also in the photos, you can see that the top of my work bench is pretty nasty Once I have the bevel hinge lines glued, sanded and done. Possibly tomorrow night or Tuesday. I will be removing this bench top and putting on a nice new clean sheet of drywall to start on the Ultimates top wings and ailerons Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
Nice cut on the ailerons Brad do you have a full size band saw to cut them out and do you keep the wing in the saddle to get them nice and square.

Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
Quote:
Peel out the section of balsa, then cut the foam with a hot knife using the edge of the balsa as a guide. Then I use a 20" sanding bar to touch them up. The wing trailing edge and aileron leading edge are 1/2 inch balsa ( each ) So I remove a section 1 inch wide where they will go. The beveled hinge line pieces will glued on this evening Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
Picked up some more tape today
So I was able to get the hinge stock glued on. I will let them sit until tomorrow. Then I can shave the over hanging wood of and blend them into the surfaces. Then it will be time to do some caps on the wing tips and the root end. Then drilling for Robart hinges Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: 3B -- Dalton 35% Extra 260 Build
Ok, for fear of this falling off the page due to all the wicked build threads.
I need to bring this one up. Last week was a bad week for progress due to work and building stage props for a production my daughter is in. But back on track. Got the ailerons done and all the hinge lines shaped and blended. Tonight i got the plywood mounting blocks epoxied into the wing roots. Picture update tomorrow after i pull the tape off. Tomorrow night i put on the wing tip caps and root caps. After that, set the wing incidence and drill all the hinge holes. Whats left....... set up and mount the cowl. drill the landing gear glass the top hatch. That should put the plane at the ready to cover stage.
