Bill, you don't want too much light. It screws up your night vision and it will take time to re-adjust back to the dark. The reason for the small flashlight.
Also don't look directly at your light system on the plane up close when turning it on.
It is also polite not to shine you plane at the other flyers while retreaving it, as it bothers them also.

Have fun!

Chris

Just waiting for the Junebugs to stop hatching out and then we'll go. Every year these things come out of the field by the thousands just at dusk and you have to vacate the premises. They are like stones with wings hitting you in the face and climbing all over everything.

LOL. Tis the season! Buzz, Buzz, Buzz.

A student and myself were swarmed last week. Swarmed pretty much describes it.
We just finished the last flight of the evening and were walking back to the cars to pack up.
I was dinged by one and then it was the great duck and cover routine. Throw your planes in the car and get the H E double toothpicks out of there!!!!!!

Re: oldtime night flyer

Hey Bill. Here is a nostalgia plane for you to build while you wait for the June Bugs to finish their cycle.

Called the June Bug. Nice little biplane from 1957.
Can be setup for RC control.

Re: oldtime night flyer

I've seen that model Chris, it's a beauty for sure but I'm still trying to get flown what has been done for several years. Just too many on the go but I'll have to put up with it.

Re: oldtime night flyer

Hey Bill:

It has been over a month since you last posted here and we are nearing the end of August.
Beautiful weekend to maiden and night fly.

Soooooooooooooo! Any reports on the Starship Powerhouse?

You have left us in the dark!

Chris

Re: oldtime night flyer

Had it out once Chris but needed more rudder control. Made a couple other changes and I'm ready to go again. Time seems to be an issue as usual.

Re: oldtime night flyer

Had the model up last week Chris, looked extremely cool. Model's appearance is changing all the time as it flys around and you can actually see pretty much every LED.
Hard on the eyes as well but it was great.

Good to hear Bill. You must be getting to know me. I was going to post in a couple of days on how the Powerhouse night flyer was coming along.
