Giant scale 747 in MB flys great

Attached is a photo of Steve Souchuk's 747. I'm not sure of the dimensions, but the top of the rudder comes up just under the chin of an average person.

It's made mostly from foam and is powered by 4 OS 91's fx's.

Todd Shulba of Winnipeg designed and built the airframe, Dennis Ward, also of Winnipeg did the covering and Steve aquired the airframe a couple of years ago.

I was sent a copy of the video of the plane flying at the Assessippi event and did it look solid. Steve did a fantastic job of flying it with scale-like take-offs and nailed the landings. Assessippi had over 80 pilots this past year and around 150 aircraft. Held outside Russel MB at the Assessippi provincial park, it's the largest event in the region.

here are some 2002 pics from that event if you are interested.

I am always impressed with airliner models.
Have a look at Peter Mitchel's B747, 1/16 scale which was test flown this year in Germany. 4 x Turbines and 10L of fuel on board....

Nice planes, and really nice pictures. I dug this one up from the Weak Signals show in Toledo a few years back. I believe it has 4 turbines as well and I overheard 2 gentlemen chatting, and the builder put around 81G's into this thing. Hard to think it could be that high but I didn't question it. Beautiful job on it.
