Shame about the RCL retracts but not completely surprising based on our experience.
Thanks again for the EDF!

Re: LX SU47 twin 70mm build

Chris made some progress on the cockpit before we were sidetracked by the new FW F15 and F14 jets...
Looks like the FW Eurofigther is now the latest distraction but here are some SU cockpit pictures to keep the thread on track!

That looks really nice, will certainly enhance the appearance of the model.

Re: LX SU47 twin 70mm build

Finally got back to the SU47 after half a dozen other projects got in the way. Wings will have a CF spar joining both sides along with thin CF strips for each wing outer sections. The working LE flaps will work in unison with the TE flaps. Ailerons are small but with the TV canards and tail mixing both elevator and ailerons there should be plenty of control.

Re: LX SU47 twin 70mm build

Fitted the TV nozzles 2cm further in thanks to our Dremel tool. Adding some panels in the ducts to smooth out the airflow.

Re: LX SU47 twin 70mm build

TV glued in and linkages setup. CF spar added to each vertical stab.
Getting close to CG check, battery placement and RX wiring.

If anyone who has successfully flown theirs, please chime in with any CG recommendations.
Thanks

Re: LX SU47 twin 70mm build

Settled on using two Hobbyeagle A3 Pro SE gyros. One to mix the elevator and aileron inputs to the canards, TV and aft elevons (like in our FW Eurofighter). The second will only go to the wing ailerons. Lots of wire harness soldering! I will have to check how the BEC handles 15 servos! The battery compartment was widened and deepened to hold our Gens Ace 6S 5500ham 25C pack and it looks like factory CG will be possible.
