Item is sold FS: Gee Bee R2

Plane & engine now sold

76" wingspan Gee Bee R2 scratchbuilt from Henry Haffke plans (not by me); ready to fly less receiver and battery. It was originally flown on a Quadra 35 but has now been replaced with a Zenoah G38.

Includes the following:
- Zenoah G38 w/ manual choke & velocity stack
- spare carb for G38
- B&B Specialties G-38 throttle kit
- Hitec HS755HB servos for the rudder and elevator
- JR St147BB servos for the ailerons and throttle

The installation of the G38 needs to be completed, including the throttle kit. I was going to do this prior to selling the plane, but thought I would leave that to the new owner, so that they can do it as they want.

Overall I would say that it is about 5 or 6 out of 10, in terms of the overall appearance. It has never been crashed, but the covering has some patches and is showing some wear. Not a beauty queen on the ground by any means, but still looks great in the air.

Now $375.00 (was $400.00), no shipping, but willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet with someone.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: FS: Gee Bee R2

Hi Steve,

What is the current AUW?

Also, would you consider selling it sans-motor?

Jim

Re: FS: Gee Bee R2

Hi Jim,

I'll have to check on the weight, but taking a wild guess I would say somewhere in the 18-20 lbs would seem reasonable.

And yes, I would be willing to sell it without the engine.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: FS: Gee Bee R2

Hi Jim,

I checked the weight, and it is approx. 20lbs ready to fly, and about +/- 15 lbs without the G38.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: FS: Gee Bee R2

Bump, and price drop!

As well, I would be willing to separate the engine and the plane:

Airplane with servos, $175.00
G38 and accessories, $200.00

Thanks,
Steve
