People may be surprised how much we send to the US over a month Crazy Canuck! I think the US dealers have just as much issue filling there stock orders as we do.I sure do not mind there business though! Freight costs in my opinion are the Canadian hobby shops number one issue.

This is one reason I shop elsewhere. How can shipping from California be much less than shipping from alberta, even though both are delivered to my door by Canada post?

I know, it's nuts .... I actually do as much business with the US as I do with Canada. At one time, I used to do more business in the US than I did in Canada.

Thankfully, we've been able to find ways to combat these shipping costs and have grown our Canadian customer base.

Elec Re: Shops wonder why we don't buy?

I live in Fort Erie. To go to a local hobby shop is either a trip to US or drive for an hour and a half. Cost of gas forces me to either mail order or go to US. Last time I ordered from TO I was very dissapointed getting there only to find out that they ordered the wrong plane. After much argument and proof that they messed up. Drove back home and never went back to this shop. Yes this was supposed to be a good shop. I now deal with Hobby Junction and get EXCELLANT servicee.Tom OH and Fields hobby in buffalo are Fantastic as well. Tom

True, but in general (not just this industry) it's this type of thought process that drives prices down. While this sounds grand at first, it has many negative affects down the road.

In turn, corners must be cut somewhere ... what's it going to be? Service? Quality? Employee Wages or Benefits? Eventually, we all pay for it somewhere down the line.

Eventually, this affects our economy in general, whether it's hobby products or groceries. While I may run a hobby related business, I'm also a consumer of many other products from other industries ...

The world is our shopping mall now, I try not to fight the inevitable. I've already lost one job so I know what the price is.
