Exclamation No Cdn Hitec??!

I just had an interesting chat with my LHS and I was informed that as of last Tuesday (28 July) Hitec has cancelled ALL of it's Canadian Distributerships...

For all of us that require warranty work, parts, new equipment etc we will have to do the mail order thing and probably add 30% to our fees for S&H...

Has anyone heard anything about WHY this has happened?

Is it temporary or perminent?

I think my next email is going to be to Hitec to ask them what is going on and to kindly reinstate the Cdn dealers - I may only be one voice but I like to think that if enough of us get together we can make one heck of a choir - and they will have to listen to us!

Re: No Cdn Hitec??!

I think they only ever had one and he's now retail
It should open the door for someone else, it may be a temporary situation!

Not sure who could be strictly wholesale though
If that's their requirement!

Re: No Cdn Hitec??!

In Alberta, my LHS, was told similar about 2 months ago. Some of us are patiently waiting for the arrival of their 2.4 offering. The delivery date keeps moving later, and later. This week I decided to go 2.4. But with modules for my J.R. equipment.
The interesting point here is that I now own 32 receivers. By starting to convert, 1 customer represents a lot of lost sales. I like their product, but details like this must be hurting their bottom line.
I'd like to say my $.02 worth, but over time it represents probably $3000. -Dale-

Re: No Cdn Hitec??!

Sounds like they only help you if you bought from hiflight though, what about the guys who have bought from other retailers?

BTW, I once had a service concern with a Hitec servo. Phoned them directly in the USA. They were worse than useless, in fact, even more useless than Useless Parcel Service.

Re: No Cdn Hitec??!

On the hitec site, distributors are only said to be located in US, Germany, Japan and Korea.
http://www.hitecrcd.com/distributor

HAVING SAID THAT, just enter your postal code on that page and see what happens. I did and got 7 local places that I could deal with.

This is a non-starter of a thread IMHO.

As I said, this happened on Tuesday - the website quite likely hasn't been updated, try calling one of those places to see if they still have a franchise / distributorship and get back to us...

IF you use HITEC this could be of concern to you - IF you do NOT use HITEC equipment - you are correct this is a useless piece of information.

If the tone of most of your posts are any indication of how you would approach the people manning the help desk it might explain why you might think you were treated poorly. I worked a service center and you know what? I didn’t build the darn thing and most likely I did not sell it to you. I most likely will treat you in the same manner you treat or talk to me. Every place I know has a policy on dealing with obnoxious people looking for someone to take out their frustrations on. Could it be? Could it be????? Naw not our DOH!!!!
