Subscribing to full thread

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Hi Jason,

I was wondering if RCC gives you the ability to subscribe to a full thread.

For example, if I want to see if there is any activity in "FOR SALE AIRPLANES" topic I have to open the site, scroll down and look for the yellow folder icon.

I would like to be able to subscribe to the full thread and automatically be notified by email of any new "airlplanes for sale". This could also apply to ENGINES, FIXED WING etc.

Can this be done for the whole topic and not just each individual item? If so, can you tell me how?

Thanks for your help.

Wayne,
I'm certainly NOT a computer type of guy but would "bookmarking" the thread(s) you are interested in help to speed things up for you? Thats how I get to where I want to go when I want to get there fast. (wish I could hook my fridge up to my computer)

Steve

Hi Steve,

I do have a lot of things "book marked" and some even on my desktop for direct access - such as RCC, Google, Weather etc.

However, I really don't want to check each "For Sale" forum to see if there is soometing new each time I log on. It would be much more convenient if I was notified each time someone put something new in the "For Sale Airplanes" and For Sale Engines", then I could go to it and take a look. However, this would mean me receiving a notification - similar to notification for each thread I subscribe to.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Wayne,

The icons on the left change to yellow where there is something new in a forum that you haven't seen.

You can also use the links at the top right hand corner of themain forum page. The 'view posts since my last visit' and 'view posts in last 24 hours' give you just the new stuff.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the explaination, however I was fully aware of the icon/folder colour function for new posts to a forum. The suggestion simply was to identify when something new is added to a forum when I check my email.

Sometimes I don't always go to RCC when I check email, but if I had an email identifying as someting new in "Engines", "Fixed Wing" or "For Sale Airplanes" I would go there immediately from my email and not wait until my next visit to RCC.

Most modelers may not want this, hopefully we'll get a "feel" from this post as to whether other subscribers like the idea or not.

You do a great job Jason - keep up the good work!

Fly4Fun,

Wayne
