Re: Maac Mag April Issue
Can you imagine if a picture was shown of a guy starting his 50cc engine by flipping the prop by hand... just imagine the perceived danger of using your hand to start a 50cc with a 22" prop...ohh the horror...the horror

Re: Maac Mag April Issue
I wonder if golfers have discussions on golfer forums, about making every player wear helmets and safety glasses, and you know, switching to nerf golf balls so there is no chance of getting hurt
I am going flying tomorrow. I suggest you guys do the same But only if you want to have fun, other wise, carry on discussing the dangers of hovering 6 ounces of Depron. AJC PS anyone remember the toy where you had a "prop on a stick", and you spun it between your palms to get it to climb up? When I lived in Kitchener, I used to buy them for kids I knew, from Flitecraft Models. Well, you could hit yourself in the face or eye if you didnt launch it correctly. That toy reminds me of this thread.

In my buisness we make corrections based on actual rules. Actual dangerous conditions. Not percieved dangers. Therefore I would like to know the actual regulations involved. Not how the picture made you feel. Bye the way have you ever met a member of the general public that thinks there is any danger at all in our hobby. Everyone that I have ever spoken to finds it odd that we even carry insurance for large gas powered planes. THAT is how this hobby is percieved. It seems to me that this whole thread is just another MAAC bashing thread. George

Here is the MAAC safety code: http://www.maac.ca/docs/2010/the_maac_safety_code.pdf NO rules or guidelines were broken. I'm willing to bet that rule #4 has been tested more than once. |
