Got a request about a short kit, for the Cessna 337 (Skymaster). If you've ever watched the movie Bat 21, it's the plane Danny Glover was flying. The 337 was widely used for counter insurgency, so lots of great paint schemes, and qualifies as a warbird. The plans are Hostetler (sp?) I'll grab the link to his site tomorrow, and post it. I certainly want one, so that's two accounted for, 2 more takers would rock for keeping the prices down. Wouldn't be looking at cutting the kits till May/June, probably at a slow pace, as I'll hopefully be flying a lot, but certainly ready well before the fall and building time!

Re: 1/4 Scale Cessna 337

what kind of price are we looking at. I do fly a 80" wing span, and flies on 2 YS 53. I would be curious on the price.

cheers

That would be an awesome project. Here's a video of one in camaflage, and a pic of a civilian trim. Great bird.

I would also be curious of what the price would be. I might be interested.

Re: 1/4 Scale Cessna 337

The pic is of a Cessna 336 (fixed gear version)

Here in Dryden there are at least 8 or 9 Cessna 337's used for forest fire detection flights. called the Skymaster, Mixmaster, suck and blow, they are quite a common sight here in the summer.

Re: 1/4 Scale Cessna 337

lol seems popular. If anyone wants to sell me a set of the plans, I'll take, or I can order direct, certainly seems to be enough interest. Standard process, I'll have to get the plans, make all the patterns, then figure out wood costs. If I can do the wing ribs and fuse bulkheads with baltic birch ply, lots of lightening holes, that keeps the price way down, over balsa. Tail feathers would be as per the plans. I'm guessing in the order of $125, but that's just a WAG till I get the plans!
