Good luck with this build. I built the 1/5 scale version from Page Aviation in 2003 and flew it for about 5 years until it died in a radio malfunction. Great fun to build and fly. However, I modified the gear to move them about 1.5 inches forward and that pretty much fixed the nasty landing tip over behaviour that will make you crazy with this model.

... Pic attached. It was always the talk of the field every time I brought it out.

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee on Steriods - BBT

Last night's big project was the aileron shaping / bevelling / hinging

Definitely a nice job to get out of the way

The plans call for 5/8" of throw. I went a little nuts on the bevel and got +/- 2 1/4", LOL.

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee on Steriods - BBT

Last step for the wing construction was to glue in the wing joiner and attach both wings with the 2.77" dihedral

This morning, I sanded this joint and cut strips of 3oz cloth and laminated them down over the joint with West System Epoxy.

We'll see in a while, but this joint is completely hidden once it's integrated into the fuse.

Tonight I'll start into the fuse

2.77 inch dihedral????????

How are supposed to 3D with that

Will make inverted harriers a challenge

Re: Page Aviation GeeBee on Steriods - BBT

ROTFL!! No kidding, eh Brad!! What kind of a design doesn't factor in 3D performance

If it doesn't harrier well, we'll each have to sit on a wing tip to "tweak" it a bit, LOL
