My Lt40 is awaiting a calm day to test fly after its major re-build. Hoping next week

Re: Electric Fly an LT-40

Well I finally picked up my charger and power supply from the shipping depot in ogdensburg ny tonight....i picked a Turnigy 300w reaktor DC charger and a 500w power supply. Also had bought a 5s 8000mAh Flightmax lipo pack.

Just curious....the pack had some 4mm bullet connector pre-soldered to the charge leads. However it was male on one and female on the other. Is that the standard setup?

I need to solder the connectors to my 2 Revo packs and wondering if this was the norm. I had planned to do battery all male and ESC female (or the opposite)

Thanks

Re: Electric Fly an LT-40

Well the weekend didn't quite go as planned..only managed to get the left side aileron covered.
I have some time tomorrow so will hopefully get the base coat of the wing done.

Re: Electric Fly an LT-40

Didnt get to fly it yet...but I shall load some before/after photos of the plane showing its rise from the ashes (literally moments before the previous owner was going to burn it in the fire pit)

Re: Electric Fly an LT-40

Made some progress tonight...I was able to get the underside of the left wing covered. It sealed at the tip, root, leading and trailing edges.

I will cover the other 3 surfaces and then start to shrink it tight. Once done, I will add the details in.

My fuse is almost ready for covering..need to ensure that area where the stab attaches is squa and level

Here are a couple pics of the wing..one from each end...

Re: Electric Fly an LT-40

A .40 size glow motor is just big enough to get into trouble if you are in a wind prone area. When I was starting a sudden wind came up tossed the plane around, I throttled back and held the plane stationary and the instructor asked what I was doing. I said " Think time, you take it". and he flew it home like a sail boat could not come directly home. With a good .46 he could have come straight in. As the next flight it had a .46 and even I as a novice could notice I was in control.
