IT PAYS TO LOOK...SOMETIMES

Well,I had time to kill befor the Datona 500 today so the better half and I decided to scout out a couple of flea markets in town.Well, nothing really jumped out at us as most of the stuff was of the collectable or yard sale kind.Or maybe it was just me.However,I turned a corner to take a look into a side room one vendor had and there were a bunch of magazines.
On top were titles I'd never seen before.eleven issues from 1957 to 1960 of the Royal Air Force " FYING REVIEW".
Flipping through, the first thing that caught my eye were advertisements from the AVRO Aircraft Limited of MALTON,Ontario, showing flight and static photos of the ARROW. It's in the October issue,1958 and the ARROW flew first on March 25th of that year.
The articles cover aviation of the time as well as airshows and WWII air heros.
Looks like I got some good reading for $1.09 per copy.Looks like it pays to go to flea markets from tome to time.

you got lucky....for every jewel you find, you have to sift through 9,999 pieces of junk it seems.

I spent my pre-race time installilng my stereo in the new entertainment center that was delivered yesterday...didn't quite get it finished but I had everything else ready...the lazy boy, lots of junk food, the big TV......only thing I proved was that I don't make a very good couch potato...I couldn't sit still for that long, especially when it was a beautiful day to go flying....

Oh well, it was a decent race even if Michael got knocked out early......

Spacecowboy, seeing as I just got a new scanner and haven't test run it yet, this may just be a good exercise.I'll see what I can do this week and post a few.Mind you they will only be the covers and maybe the Arrow advertisement as a teaser.Give me a few days and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Ian for that picture. Very interesting. That Sabreliner is an oldie but goody.

What I would really like to see is the Arrow pictures. :P
