Jato 2.5R?

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Seeing as Traxxas just came out with a 2.5R and 3.3 T-Maxx, and a 3.3 Revo. It seems that Traxxas is doing away with the original 2.5 and replacing it with the 2.5R. The don't even offer the 2.5 in the engine replacement program.
I'm looking at buying a new Jato, and wondering if I should wait and see if Traxxas releases a Jato 2.5R. Any thoughts?

actually they are not the same motor.the 2.5r has a different block, piston, sleeve, head etc.you can although swap cooling heads.the 2.5r has better cooling charachteristics and more off the line torque.check www.traxxas.com for the part id's and you will see for yourself.if the stock 2.5 isnt enough for you keep it as a spare or sell it and throw in a trx3.3.the exchange plan isnt worth it,you can go out and buy the motor for less money at your lhs and keep the old one.
