Hi Dave,

don't misunderstand. I fully understand about the work. I just wanted to let you know that if your wife works west, there is ample transit for her (Bowmanville has buses to the main transit system) and for you to drive east from there means little to no traffic for you each way. There are hospitals between Trenton and Durham as well (Bowmanville, Oshawa, Ajax/Pickering etc) that you could take advantage of if Toronto is too far. Kingston is another option. Nursing goes up and down in this province but there always seems to be some type of demand.

I merely wanted to give you an idea of the distances. Either side of Trenton means some type of commute for one or both of you. It's the Ontario way You go where your work is but live where you choose. I commute to downtown Toronto (about 55 km) and my wife drives to her work (about 42km) We live in Whitby because we like it so we live with the commutes.

Again best of luck getting the job. Once that's settled then I'm sure we can all help you with info on locations for living and flying.

Bob

Darn westenders think Whitby is the end of the world as we know it

Actually the Go transit system goes as far as Oshawa. First train is at about 5:15am (remember this is Canada )

There is a bus shuttle service so folks can park as far as Newcastle, then Bowmanville then Courtice, to the train in Oshawa. The lakeshore train line has the most trains in Toronto and goes way out to Burlington (almost to Alberta )

Schedules and rates are found at www.gotransit.com (you'd be looking at the Lakeshore line)

The version I work on is almost identical to the one you guy's are getting. I was speaking to some CAF crews who were visiting my sqn and they said Trenton is getting it in the summer. The aircraft is serviced by a civillian company called IMP who are hopefully going to employ me...if I grovel enough!!! If I could figure out how I'd stick a piccy on the thread, but I'm a technophobe!

WESTENDER!

Nuker,

So now I know it to be true!

For years I have been travelling to Calgary, they could be considered xtreme westenders, and they always talked about the Evil Easterners in Ontario and how everyone in Toronto thinks that it is the centre of the universe

Now I see the centre of the universe has shifted to Whitby :P :P :P Jeeze to us Missisaugians there realy is nothing east of HWY 427
