Got my new spectator station ready now. OK I might try flying from it, but it does bluescreen readily, so my-mileage-may-vary

It is a Haier LED TV 19" screen. on a heavy duty tripod (which can be extended to like 8 feet). Made a folding coroplast sunshade - velcro. Receiver is one of the newer 32 channel autoscan 5.8GHz units (not diversity). Not sure if it is equal to a RC305 I have used for years. Can also run 1280 for more reliable signal. But now I am jonesin for a diversity receiver to run a couple helicals on

Will run goggles too for now, but I am curious to see what it is like with 19 inch screen. So far I hate 9 inch and love 32 inch.

everything runs on 12V, so one 3S lipo for TV and Rx. maybe put a voltage alarm on that, and run 4000mah

hey just tried out this new 19" GS. The receiver (RX 5822) .. is crap!

I am going to put my oldie trusty RC305 back on. The filtering and reception quality is a LOT better than this newfangled autoscan 32 channel receiver.

And you know the 32" in the truck I used before is no more hassle than this heavy 19" ground station. At least when it is in the truck, I don't have to haul it out and set up a tripod. But the 19" will be very nice for at MAAC field for spectators, where the cars are a long ways from the flight line.

I had a similar setup with the 19in LED TV. I found the BestBuy Insignia 19" is capable to take the 3S Lipo. I am currently setup with the Foxtech PVR-58II mini DVR. This DVR also has the built-in 5.8 32ch receiver. I output it to the Insignia TV. The good thing with this setup is you won't get a blue screen.

The Tripod comes with the VESA mount (Gator Standard Adjustable Tripod) and it's capable to mount upto 125lb TV.

My old boss gave me a 19" lcd tv a while back and discovered I can turn off the blue screen an it gives me beautyful static. Little power hungry but I also have me a 100watt solar panel system which gives me enough power to run it and the charger.
