Ft.St.John field invasion
We just moved in on thier flying field & took it over! Invaded, Conquered & confiscated! By the time the locals showed up we were in full swing & they didn't even mind! What a bunch of nice guys! Nice field too! I hope that some day they will feel free to do the same to us!

Re: Ft.St.John field invasion
Thanks Max!!! We had a blast out there this weekend!! (I am the guy in the blue shirt flying the Seniorita in the one picture)
Hopefully Merv will have a chance later to get some of the pictures from Monday morning posted. We got up and were out at the field at 6:30 so we would be ready to fly just as the sun came up. We wanted to get in a bit more flying before the wind picked up....plus Merv and family had a 10 hr drive to get back home Here are some older pictures of the two gliders we towed this weekend, and the tug. Some specs on the aircraft for any who are interested: Towplane: Sig Kadet Seniorita Power-Saito .30, 12X4 APC prop Modified with ailerons and drooped STOL wingtips Blue and orange glider: Great Planes Spirit, built pretty much stock. Wingspan 78" Blue and yellow glider: Scratch built Sagitta 900...modified Winspan increase to 111", added flaps Weight is around 2.25-2.5lbs The Seniorita pulled the big Sagitta just fine, it took a bit longer to get off the ground than when it had the Spirit on the line, but we were still only using about 30-40ft of runway. Once we were off, it climbed just as fast as with the spirit. One large circle over the field and we were at release altitude, which was a little over twice a high start launch height. What Fun!!! |

Re: Ft.St.John field invasion
Pictures are a bit of a dissapointment Ron, too early in the day for good light so they are pretty grainy. My apologies but I will post a few just to show that we were actually up & at it before sun rise!
Hard core eh?
