Starter box battery???

Just wondering what is best for a starter box battery. 2 stick packs or a 12V gel cell. New to starter boxes so I want to get the right one. Also, if I go with the 12V can I use a motorcycle battery? Have very limited supply of options where I am. Can only get 2000mah NICD stick packs or a gel cel or the bike battery. What do you all think? Thanks

I have found that back up battery for home alarms works great plus it will fit most starter boxes , 12v and 7 amp hours ,if you have a Princess Auto near you they will have many power options for a cheap price. a moto battery is 12v but a little big and heavy .
