Yep, that was my 1st contest. I'm the young fella tossin the plane ... LOL
Man oh man, how times have changed. Imagine goin to a contest wearing a suit and a fedora. Look how excited the crowd is when a plane actually lands in one piece, they run after the plane. I fly old timers but not free flight. There still is free flight going on today. Those guys really know how to trim a plane, imagine trimming to it climb under power and then floating back unharmed. You know, I can remember going to contests with my father in the early 60's or late 50's, but guys weren't wearing suits. There has to be a lot of these old movies around. Too bad they couldn't be all put together for us to watch. It would be neat. Instead of a video on the Tuscon Shootouot, it could be Oldtimers gone wild, or something like that.
