I would suggest that you adjust the flow rate so it empties the smoke tank of water in about 1.5 minutes then when you operate it with oil readjust it for five minutes to empty the tank. It will depend on what you are using for smoke oil. One of the aerobatic teams I helped used colored diesel fuel.

Per your suggestion that the tank should last for 5 minutes; and as my tank is 1.5 Liters, I should be pumping 300ml per minute of smoke oil.

For water I should pump 1 litre per minute.

Does that seem correct?

AGAIN I am only trying to get my radio controls programed to the APPROXIMATE amount of oil that I will pump. I fully understand that I will need to make further adjustments when I run the engine in the sping.
