Re: Kudos to Canada Post!
11:15am today...the mail lady is at my door with my parcel.
Awesome! To bad it took a month for it to get here from China though. Canada post is rockin' these days! |

Re: Kudos to Canada Post!
My best Canada Post story is that I ordered something from Germany, and something from Great Hobbies (450km away) at the same time. Both items showed as "in stock" at each place. The package from Germany got to my house 3 days sooner than the one from Edmonton! That could have been a Great Hobbies issue though, because I've had lots of those.
It's amusing to order from GH and Hobby King on the same day too. |

Re: Kudos to Canada Post!
I can chirp in here and say that HobbyWholesale gets stuff from Edmonton to me in record time. If it's in stock I usually have it in 2 days...once even the next day!! Now that's speed. Lately HK is using the slow boat from China...shipping with Swiss post that actually routes through Switzerland! That's like driving from Toronto to Ottawa passing through Thunder Bay....

Re: Kudos to Canada Post!
Ah, the vagaries of using a mail system that has to cover Canada from sea to sea and US border to the high Arctic and all points in between.
My best story is my buying an anime set from someone out in Saskatoon on eBay -- good rating, no complaints and over 100 sales. Money goes out immediately (Buy it now auction), and get a response back from the seller three days later that package is on its way. No tracking number provided. Two week later, I'm getting concerned so I ask for the tracking number (figured that its stuck somewhere on the road....) Another week goes by and no response, so I file a not-received complaint, figuring that I'd get a response. NOthing, week passes and still nothing, so I escalate. Within four hours, I get a response from eBay -- valid complaint here's your money back (bid and shipping). Still haven't heard anything from the seller but he's now got FOUR non-delivery complaints lodged in the last week. My wife says that the next business day after the refund would be when the package arrives. That was a week ago and still no sign. I'm pretty sure that this isn't a Canada Post story, but one of the reasons why I tend to deal through PayPal with anyone -- you will get a refund for non-delivery. Also, getting your mailing paperwork through their on-line facility means that the buyer gets a tracking number. However, with sending out items, I've only had one instance where Canada Post crushed an item. Not bad for almost 600 sales around the world. |

Canada Post- over achiever?
From Edmonton Birdy kit, shipped on Monday, received on Thursday, 4 days. April 18th to 21st Canada Post still projects the delivery date to be April 27th. Mind you it took almost a month to get a kit from a hobby store in Minnesota a little while back.

Re: Kudos to Canada Post!
I ordered a parcel from hobby King last Dec. and it never arrived. The people at Canada Post that I talked to were ignorant and uncaring for the most part. They told me that they could not look for it without a request from Hong Kong Post. HKP wouldn't initiate a serch with out the request from Hobby King, and so on and so on. So now it's the end of April and still no parcel. Canada Post admits that they sent it to the wrong delivery station but that's as far as it goes.In my mind everybody that I talked to was sufferong from the NOT MY JOB SYNDROME.
