Has anyone flown the MK Cessna 336? I am ready to maiden mine and wonder what someone else has powered theirs with. I have an OS 46 on the front and an OS 40 sr in the rear.
Just weighed it at 11.6 pounds dry. Any comments!!

Re: cessna 336

The 337 was always one of my faves and I would love to see pics and vids of your welded gear version.

Good luck with the maiden.

Re: cessna 336

do you mean 337, mine have Ys 53 front and back, i fly scale only no fancy stuff, and always land with full flaps, i'm sure not about the weight but i know it always comes in fast. The tail will be very responsive due to the prop wash from the rear engine. I have the engine set up so i can control the engine individually specially on starting. the wings span on mine is 80". I have one engine die on me once in a while, they can still fly but very sllugish. it's a show stopper everytime i fly.
Good Luck, by the way where did you get your plane.

Re: cessna 336

If I remember correctly, the 337 was retractable, the 336 had a fixed gear.

Re: cessna 336

It is really a 336. Here are some photos. I am on my second one now as the first had an untimely stall and snap at about 50 ft alt. First one is CFQGO scaled to a full scale plane. I built it 2005 from a kit I had under my bench for about 15 years. The second one I purchased from a friend probably was not going to fly it. I had to install only the radios and engines.

Re: cessna 336

My planes are MARUTAKA kits produced in Osaka Japan many years ago. Span is 78 inches.
I thought I saw a recently produced RC model but I don't remember where that was. I think it was a little larger than 78 inches. Good luck in your search for one.
Ron.

Re: cessna 336

These C336 n 337s are one of my favorite Cessna's of all time....

Visited him over the weekend after very long time, had a great time with him, here is Mike Emilio with his KNP C336 RTF!, Mike put a lot of work to convert her from RAM turbine powered to prop version, presently has OS160 in the front cowl with RX batteries in the back cowl. This is ex-Gary Strong's C336 that he flew many times with Ram 500/700 turbine engine....
