Hey guys, I look a quick look through here and on the main RC Pro site but what makes someone "expert" is it any level of chassis sponsorship or any sponsor ship in general?

I ran the series last year in the expert class. The expert class was made up of Sponsored drivers and experienced independents. I think it’s fair to say if you are getting paid or products to race you are an experienced driver. Not to mention sponsors would want their drivers racing in the expert class.

The Intermediate class was made up from beginners and drivers who were still honing their skills (not that the experts aren’t). The intermediate class had some great racing. Jumps, lines, and consistency may not be quite there, but improvements were seen throughout the season. In General, budgets were lower and I didn’t see any manufactures drivers in the class.

I am not 100% on the rules for the R/C Pro series, but that was what I saw at the races I attended last year. Hope that helps.

From the first paragraph under the rules section on the Pro Series Site,

http://nitrooffroad.rcprosites.com/s.../contentid/236

You cannot run in Intermediate if any of the following applies.

#1. You have a motor or chassis sponsorship from a manufacturer or distributor. It does not matter what percentage the sponsorship is.
#2. If you race in Open in one class you must race in Open in all classes.

LOL no no no I used to race with people in Oklahoma that did that....

I would have been in Expert anyways, I don't believe that you get better by being the fastest guy on the track, I believe you get better by trying to keep up with the fastest guy
