FYI I have had two TT pro46's. The first one was great and very strong. The second one was weak (1500 RPM less with the same prop as the first engine). It also always leaned out with 1/2 a tank of fuel left. I took it apart several times but never found an air leak or any other problem. It also didn't matter which plane it was on. What type of fuel are you guys burning???...5%, 10% etc.........

I'm running CP 15% and all sorts of props. 11x4, 11x5, 12x4, 12.25x3.75, 10x7, 10x6. I think thats it. Never had any leaning problems with mine.

I find the APC 11.5x4 the best all round prop for all my 46s.

The 12.25x3.75, in my opinion, loads the engine just a little to much.

The 11.5x4 lets the engine "rev" and gives teriffic vertical but less speed.

If you've never tried one, give it a "go", I think you'll be impressed!

I have owned a OS 46 and i have seen many TT46's and GMS 47's running. If it is not about money and you want all out power I would not purchase any of these engines. I would look into a Rossi, a JETT, a Nelson or a YS. All of these manufacturers make 45 size 2 stroke engines that would whoop the pants of the OS, TT's or GMS engines. They will cost more but they will give you the power you are looking for right out of the box. I myself have a Rossi 45 and it will outpower any of these engines. Just my .02

I agree, my Jett .46 will run circles around an OS FX 46, but at the time I bought it (3 years ago) I could have allmost bought 3 OS FX's for the money. Mind you, our dollar was weak, and now is a GREAT time to buy a Jett, with out strong dollar VS the US $$. I wanted a Jett just to see how it was, and man, it is the best engine I have ever bought hands down.

But its still a lot for some people to spend on one engine.

Whether you decide on a TT.46 or OS.46 try Hobby Wholesale in Edmonton . They will ship for free on anything over $100 providing it is not an oversized pkg. The prices have been running at $150 for the OS and $130 for the TT. Check the MAAC add for phone number.
I have used both the TT.46 and the OS .46. The OS was the most powerful and very definitely the most reliable. The power difference was not a great deal between the two.
I have about 4 cases of fuel on the OS and it runs just as sweet as the day I first tried it. I have used nothing but synthetic fuel with 10% nitro and an OS #8 plug from day one. Have tried various castor oil and synthetic mixes but it just runs better and produces more power on pure synthetic oil fuels.
As for the GMS .46, you get what you pay for. They produce gads of power but don't expect to land with the engine running every time. I have never owned one, and never will, but have helped many a beginner at the local field who purchased one because of price. They almost always end up purchasing a OS after numerous dead stick landings and walking to retrieve their models. One thing that seems to improve them is greasing up the carb barrel. They then run very well for about 6 flights and then it is time for another grease job. The local quickie pylon racers love this engine because of the power it develops. They don't care if it quits after 10 laps.

I have TT .46 Pro and it has been absolutely excellent. I forget the redline, but the guys at my club had it on a tach and were impressed. I read it is more powerful than the OS FX, and it runs much nicer than my friend's OS AX, and it was cheaper. Outstanding value.
