All in all - 14 indoor flyers isnt too shabby, it might not be a "record" but 14 flying indoors in a gymnasium is CRAZY fun. I think we had maybe 8 or 10 or so down in Sudbury when I was there and that was super fun, and hard to keep track of whats going where, etc.

Jim, 20 in a golf dome might be more in number, but I bet 14 in a gym is more exciting... confined spaces and all

Ha, quite right!
I can imagine 14 bumping into each other, and totally nutz with 20!

I'm still in awe with the kind of excitement that would have been generated when I saw that youtube of qty 76, T34's flying at the same time at Joe Nall.

Re: New CDN Record

What is truly amazing to me is that in the five or so minutes when all of the aircraft were in the air, there were no mid-airs! I was incredulous! This was not a large gym, just an average school gymnasium. It was a hoot!

This is the truth Tmaxx because I read it someplace.
In following the logic of your supportive post, you can do the research to prove me wrong.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.....but I wouldn't go on a forum and make a statement one way or the other unless I knew the absolute truth.

That's the perfect answer!!! Can't get none better.
My point exactly!

Yes, I'm fully aware that it was a fun thing, and that's cool.

Ahhh, , , but alas, , , it's lighten-up time.

Btw, , , it was written on the back of a Bazooka Joe bubble gum wrapper.
And now after so many years it's really all a joke.
If you can't believe Bazooka Joe, , , geez, , ,what's this world comming to.

Re: New CDN Record

Somehting that hasn't come up yet was that we had a mix of submicro (vapours, embers, etc), a couple of foamies and a few helis (250 and smaller: 2x250s, a couple of MSRs, etc.).

The planes did circuits and the helis could really just hover (or risk collision). The fun factor came from the number/attempt, not so much from the flying itself.

I think we did a good job of managing the risk factors. It required the full cooperation of all of the participants to achieve.

Hi Mike

Way to go Mike, now is the time for a group hug...

Somehow, I knew you had a good sense of humour.
Thanks
