Wing bevels are all done and just final capping and sanding left there. Also the canopy is all fitted and ready to goop on tomorrow and I started on the cowl mounts...whew time for some hockey!

Holy Cow, those wings are thin It's gonna fly like an arrow

Lee.. why the twin aileron servo bays? Are you going 1 or 2 servos per aileron?

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Hey Trev. I put in two bays in case I find one servo doesn't cut it. The same plane on FG is using the BLS 157s and he says it has more than enough moxi with no blowback issues. I will probably get those unless Futaba comes out with a similar make in an SBus version.
The wings are thin and light. I'll have to weigh them to find out how much. I can't imagine having to core these to make them even lighter especially for IMAC. The plane would never come down!

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Okay... I understand now.. that's what I thought, but was wondering if you had heard that one wasn't enough!! (which would have shocked me)

Those little ailerons don't have much more surface area than the elevators and all they do is roll the plane vs the elevators who have to change the pitch of the plane (Newton's principal of equal, but opposite force).

I bet the new 514oz-in FutBLS172HV SBUS servos will be overkill ... is that what you're going to buy or just stick with the 450oz-in Fut9075SB servos?

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I can wait another month or so before I order servos. I do like the thought of brushless however with reduced voltage and exceptional speed. Anything over 400 ounces at six volts will work I'm sure!
Got started on the cowl ring today. Actually going faster than expected and should be back on track and possibly covering the stabs on Sunday.
Still amazed at how the parts fit...such fun

Wait until you fit the cowl on tight to the fuse and the crank is magically centered in the cowl opening... a wonderful feeling and gives new appreciation to Dennis' attention to detail!!!!

Yep... those BLS are truely in a class of their own!!! I ordered (4) of the new BLS172HV yesterday for my Fall 2012 124" Pro build
