Last night around 1:00 AM I was fixing a wing using Super Thin CA to glue the balsa wood. The fumes iritated my eyes and nose ( I was aware it can happen) and I told myself I can handle it, but, in few seconds it set off the fire/CO alarm.

Useless to say what happened while I was running to get the ladder from the garage and unplug all the sensors in the house: wife screaming, baby crying, 6 years old running ... parents (visiting from Europe) keep asking "what's going on, what's going on".

It's not the first time happening, so, this morning, I got an ultimatum to move my shop in the garage

It happeend in the past when I used the Mastercraft heat gun to shrink the covering. Well, the covering job was really good, so there was no flame or anything that can trigger the alarm.

I don't understand what set off the alarm. The lack of Oxigen, CO presence...did it ever happened to you guys? Maybe the sensor is too old (5 years old) and it triggers false alarms ?

CA sets me off into a 2 or 3 day episode of weezing sneezing hacking and nose blowing hell. I really should stop using it but i'm too stupid i guess.

I was fueling my airplane on the kitchen table and the gas/CO/smoke detector beside the stove went off. It also goes off if I mix a Rum and Coke too close to it.

The CO detector probably triggers on just about any combustible gas. The smoke alarm detects fine particulates which you would get from curing CA.

When I use CA late at night while having a good shot of bedtime SCREECH.
(you know that good old rum) The alarm goes off, the dog who has been
sleeping all day starts to bark. Lights next door goes on. Then the wife
wakes up and I am good for all night. If it was for never having been introduce
<to modeling ...I would never have known about good CA. Beats Viagra.
