ZDZ Repair

I have a friend that recently aquired a ZDZ engine.
Upon inspection we noticed that the plug wire shielding
has a couple of breaks in it. One leaves about 1/2" of the
inner insulation exposed.

Any ideas on how to repair or is replacement necessary?

Steve:

Had the same problem with one of mine. Got some Braided ground cable, made it larger. If you work it it shortens the cable but makes the center opening larger. Cut it down the length and wrapped it around the wire. Taped it with black electrical tape. Works like a charm, no more interference.

Dennis is correct. It should be ok if repaired as he describes.

Its very important to restrain the ignition wires in our aircraft so that they are not rubbing or chaffing on anything. Holes in the shielding can lead to radio interference.
