Wife and I where sitting outside tonight having our after supper coffee, when the roar of something occurred. They appeared out of the north west Two planes one directly behind the otherIt was easy to see that they where two planes of the Canadian Snowbirds 431 Air Demonstration Squadron. They will be at the Kitchener Waterloo Air Show this weekend at the Breslau International Airport
It was quite a sight to see that close to our house maybe just a hundred feet or so from flying directly over us .They where gone almost as quick as they appeared

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.

If you can't eat it or hump it.

Pee on it and walk away.

Re: Snowbird Fly over Elmira

Freekin cool isn't it ?
I was in Kelowna a month or so ago,at my brothers house(overlooks the north end of the rumway) 1/8 mile away maybe, when out of the north they came 3 at a time @ 10-12 min intervals, making nice passes past the tower (smoke on) and then came round and landed, parked (directly infront of the living room window) fueled and then left about an hour later.

Still not as cool as gliding with 243 ogopogo squadron in penticton.
Sun was just comming up while we were preparing things(about 25 feet from the runway on the grass).
Well a pilot of an F-18 was visiting........

Anyone else ever seen an F-18 @25 feet full military AB,as he pulls the gear out from underneith him right infront of you?
Probably the greatest moment in my life as far as aviation goes.

We have the herkie birds fly over everyday. Today was special as he flew over I noticed his brown mustache and blue eyes.Id say he was at about 1200 ft. Whole house shook. Sometimes we get 2. Tom Oh I also live close to the Russel group so I can watch his 109 and Spitfire fly over the house.

Re: Snowbird Fly over Elmira

Nah got you all beat. When is Air Cadets got the great opportunity to run around the runway in a Snowbird with a former pilot. It was an awasome time and only wish we could have took it up for a flight. Was there for a National Airframes Cadet course. Snowbird we were in was one that had houred out of service. Still a cool time and was better then the Hercules flight we had a few days later.

Snow birds are Red and white not blue. Not sure who that will be in the KW Airshow.
I find that kind of funny the KW airshow at Breslau Intl Airport which is in Woolwich Township which has it township offices in Elmira. Guess thats much like Pearson Intl. Airport that was Toronto Intl. Airport in Mississauga.

Musta been the light. Definitely no blue on them. (Unless they were F/A18's and it was the Blue Angles!!)

Re: Snowbird Fly over Elmira

Was at the field today for a few flights and we're about 2nm from YKF. We got to see the Snowbirds entire practise as well as a MiG15 and F86 flying as a pair(ultra cool), an F4-U, some Harvards and a few others I'm forgetting. Looks like it's going to be another great airshow this year.

Last year there was a fellow with a P51D that put on a show that was incredible. Most every maneuver was in the vertical - a pure energy show, and he was spot on. That guy knew how to handle that plane. I hope he's there again as that was worth the price of admission alone.
