I've got a fair bit of info, and if it's a specific type, theatre, etc, let me know, might be able to scan some info and email.

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

I've been puttering on my 60 sized P-47 at the same time as the 1/5th, getting it all ready for glassing. I'll get the 1/5th set to glass, the P-47, and a few other projects, and do them all in one day. Then, a week of sanding, filling, and priming! lol

Searched a bit more today, I'm looking at 2 at the moment. 1 is Talihassie Lassie, and the other 1 might be No Guts No Glory. Gona keep digging for more info and pics. In the mean time here's my progress on the Jug after finishing up the hinging.

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

Looking good! Got the top of my 60 sized P-47 wing glassed today, Yee Haw, will do the flaps and ailerons tomorrow. Almost ready to join the wings on the giant P-47, then do the tips, cut out the flaps and ailerons, and start working on all the underside stuff. Slowly looking like a Thunderbolt!

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

Thanks Dave, This 60 size your working on do you have a build thread on it? Like to see some pics on it 'cause it sounds interesting on your progress so far! As for my build I'm going to start work on the gear doors today as well as some filling and such. I'll take some pics of my work on the doors as I go along.

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

I didn't even know RC Canada existed when I started the P-47, but I can certainly take a few pics, and start one, or add to here if Mike's ok with that.

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

Do either one of you gentleman have a picture or 3view that shows all panel lines. I've looked but haven't found a good one yet that shows the detail that I need to make it look exact. Maybe if you do you can post or email me the file.

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

I do have some, and I can scan and email. One thing I always do, is get a good plastic model, Hawsegawa, etc, of the plane I'm building, have a Spit, 2 - P-47s, Me 262, FW-190, I don't do any detailing till I've got a good plastic model, and lots of reference material. a laptop, or digital picture frame, is a great addition to the shop, the picture frame is less bothered by dust, you can download tons of pics on it, and then flip to what you need for what you are working on. You have to do the research if you're going scale my friend, get onto EBay, for example, tons of books on the Thunderbolt, that's where I bought most of mine. I'm constantly referring to the books. Good for us old guys with bad memories!

Attached some shots, the small P-47, top of the wing glassed, the big P-47 wing, both wings together, and then the big one with fuse.

Re: Top Flite Giant Scale P47 Thunderbolt

I googled P-47 3-view, went to images, there's an insane amount of info there! Here's one example. Another good search, is P-47 walkaround.
