FYI

The STi software (APP) is now available on iTunes for those that are interested. Just enter Spektrum in the search box. Looks good can't wait for the plug in. The APP is free.

Re: Spektrum/JR STi App on iTunes - FREE

The STi module was announced back in April.

https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=120515

It isn't cheap though, $99.99

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SPMTR1000

I'm surprised there aren't some STi modules already out there... I thought they were available months ago???

not interested myself. I have a DX8 but I have yet to use the TM1000 for anything.

Re: Spektrum/JR STi App on iTunes - FREE

I played around with the TM1000 Telemetry module on my E-Flite Taylorcaft 450. It was neat, but the novelty wore off quickly. I found I rarely bothered to look at the data after the first few flights.

I still have the TM1000. I intend on using it for the odd maiden flight to check performance of the radio and BEC. Otherwise I don't really plan to leave it installed in any of my planes.

Re: Spektrum/JR STi App on iTunes - FREE

Horizon phoned yesterday Nov. 3rd and indicated that my STi is on the way. So they are now in stock.

Interested in it, but I'm holding off for now until the software can do data logging. So far it's just real time.

Jester4

I would think the flight log function is a form of data logging. The main thing I am interested is the frame hits and holds which are logged. The nice thing about being on a device like the iPhone/iPad is the ability to change the programming unlike the type in the Tx. As I have said a number of times there is no way I am taking my eyes off of my A/C while flying.

Re: Spektrum/JR STi App on iTunes - FREE

Yeah, the flight log data is stored, but everything else is real time. I talked to the horizon rep at the Chicago show when he was showing us the unit and it's pretty slick, but he confirmed there is no logging for now when I asked him but did say that they now have on staff a full time programmer so he will be working on adding new features to it as time goes on and logging is one of them eventually. The rep also mentioned a bunch of new sensors in the works for all kinds of different functions.

Re: Spektrum/JR STi App on iTunes - FREE

Thanks for the info Jester4

I am looking forward to having my iPhone in my shirt pocket and asking it questions via Siri. 'What's my altitude", "What's my voltage", and having it answer back. Not far away from it I would think.
