Well everyone has great luck with the Hitec TG servos. You canpick from the 5997 TG or the 5955TG. Both of which I've tried in a buggy and they ROCK! The 5997 is a bit faster with less torque (180+ Oz/Inch - .14 seconds/60 degrees for the '97 vs. 330+/ .15 sec-60 degrees for the '55) The Hitec servos are also conservatively rated. Side by side test show both servos to be faster than their rated speeds! Hitec TG's are simply great servos!

Also the new Futaba brushless servos are getting rave reviews so far. They have one that would be perfect for buggy steering servo. Thge name escapes me at the moment. But remember being impressed by the specs. I would give these a long hard look too. We all know Futaba has a great rep so it's hard to go wrong with their stuff as you well know

Prices for all the above servos are in the same range too. So it's just your preference I guess. Those are the only ones I would use. But others obviously have their preferences too. Those are just my preferences based on experience or feedback from people I trust.

regards

I myself am using the Hitec 5996TG Coreless Digital Servo. It is .10 sec at 6.0V and I think around 190 oz.in at 6.0V. I love it....

I highly recommend the Futaba ones. Use them in all my cars/trucks and they are flawless - smooth and reliable. For 1/8 buggy, 9351 for steering and 9350 or 9451 for throttle. I haven't tried the brushless yet, but as speed metal said they are getting rave reviews.

personally, i run a hitec 5955TG (333 oz @ .15 @6.0v) servo for steeing and JR DS 8611A (320oz @ .15 @6.0v) for throttle all i know is my servo setup is bullet proofed. Ace 1015 would be you best bet for throttle and or steering all metal geared and has 201 oz @ .10 @6.0v. and the hitec 5955tg for steering. for steering your looking for at least 180oz or torque for steering and at least 100-120 oz of torque @.10 or faster for throttle.
