Here are some pics. I used a flat piece of CF and epoxied it the outside part, which was collapsing inward. If you do this, you must remove the parting agent on the inside of the inlets. The epoxy will not stick and the CF will come loose and get sucked through the fan. The sound will be obvious. I used some alcohol on some paper towel taped to a piece of balsa. Get it good and clean. Use good epoxy. I use BVM v-poxy for all my builds. Costs a little more but it will not let go.

Re: HK CF-105 Avro Arrow

thanks Brian.

is that a piece of CF cloth or hard CF you use?
you went in at approx 4 to 6 in deep?
never had good luck getting epoxy to bond to fiberglass, so I use fiberglass resin instead.
will check mine and see if they have that problem.

Dan.

Here is a pic of your new motor and esc Dan. You can have my esc extension with capacitor. I can solder up deans and 3.5mm bullets on the esc and extension if you want.

It was solid, rigid, flat cf, 3mm. Do a power run and see if collapsing. Place where you think it needs it. The left inlet of mine need two pieces and the right, just one.

Re: HK CF-105 Avro Arrow

Sweet, thanks Brian.
will do a power check for sure. if you want to put bullets on the esc sure, but I don't need the deans connector, I use XT-60 connectors.
I take it that the capacitor will be closest to the pack right (away from the esc)?

Dan.

When you put your connectors on the esc and extension, the capcitor is in the middle of the length. The long piece of wires go to the bat and the short end go to the esc. This will put the capcitor just off to the side of the inlets, inside the fuse. You don't want to jam it between the bottom of the fuse and forward part of the inlet.

Re: HK CF-105 Avro Arrow

I just checked out the video. Looks good Dan You don't need a lot of throw in the elevons. I think I had 10mm up and down with about 40% expo. It will glide very well with no power. My instructions asked for 2mm reflux(both elevons with 2mm of up for neutral). I ended up taking it out and made them straight out. Definitly look into the intakes on the next ground check. Mine collapsed quite a bit, reducing power.

Here is a pic of my esc placement with a cooling slot made for the esc.
