Windex, and Auto window washer fluid (winter), 50-50%.
Not only does it not freeze, but it does not get slimmy and white with castor oil.

Hope this helps, others will have other solutions that work for them. Let's here about theirs.

Dale, just curious why do you cut the windex with wwf?

Re: Cleaning Solutions

1) Straight windex turns somewhat white, and turns a bit slimmy like a fish.
2) I keep forgetting it in the Cargo trailer, or garage and it freezes splitting the pump.

Re: Cleaning Solutions

+1 on the 50/50 Windex and Isopropyl Alcohol. I did use some of the Invisible glass for awhile, it did an awesome job! Not sure why I haven't kept using it?? Might have to go and pick some more up.

Re: Cleaning Solutions

I've been using Windex for years and it works better than Fantastic, but does get slimy (as noted earlier). I like the WW fluid idea and I'm gonna give it a shot. Sure would be cheaper and wouldn't freeze!

As for cleaning rags, I pick up old cotton cloths (baby blankets work best), cut them up into 6"x6" squares and carry a 1/2 dozen all the time. The clean ones go in a drawer in my field box, the dirty ones go in my starter compartment. When I get close to running out, I chuck them into the washer with my work clothes (that smell a bit like glow fuel afterwards, but....)

True, you have to wash them once in awhile, but in 4 years I've used 1 baby blanket, 0 paper towels, 0 wipes...

Re: Cleaning Solutions

Been using windex but the decals (window and door) on the exhaust side are starting to peel off. I also used an automotive pin stripe, which peeled of long ago.

Re: Cleaning Solutions

Windex also makes their product with vinegar instead of ammonia and it works quite well removing castor oil. I've been using it for years in another hobby of mine.
