Anyone For Vintage Racing this Summer?
Would anyone like to have a vintage race this summer at Sids? I'm thinking cars from say the 80s...RC10s, JRX2s, 80's Tamiyas and Kyoshos like Ultimas Optimas etc...
Run Mabuchi 540 stock motors or something? Really it doesnt matter what motor you have I guess...something old would work...Old lemans or monsterstocks or associated 05s... Batteries would have to be newer NiMHs and ESC would be OK too since who could keep them old school controllers working anyways Would be cool to see old machines running again...even if it turns into a "who can get the most laps without snapping ancient plastic " Anyone got some old hardware they'd like to take off the shelf and run a few laps this summer? Say at SIDS 1st ANNUAL VINTAGE BASH? |

I have an old Tamiya Fox that I could bring out for a go at the Trophy race in April. I would only want to run it for 1 race because running a qualifier with it could be the end of the buggy. So I would support the vintage race if there was going to be one.

I'm down with that.
I have a few old mabuchi motors, and a couple of those old kyosho 360 and 420 gold motors. i've also got an optima, turbo optima, and an ultima that i had all tricked out. hopefully i kept all of the "tricked out" components though ha.

Oh I'd be in for sure! I ran my JRX2 in the main, at Niagara last weekend, it handled better than my B3!
Brent, you have an old Fox ?! You gotta bring out to Niagara and turn some laps with it!.

Hey Jim I got that TQ10 tore down to the bone but she'll be running again soon
OK it seems there are a few guys that like the old race idea, we'll get the vintage going then for the summer...Doubt the first race will be a good time but we can talk about it...I can't wait to try my RC10s out at Sids... I want to see an RC10 vs a JRX2 vs an Ultima all on the track together...Just like the old days
