[Sonic Boomer]

Tonight 19 of our local guys met at the golf dome from 8:30 to 10:30 for some indoor fun. Lots of room for helis and fixed wing to fly in their own zones. It was a little on the breezy side with the type of heating/air exchange system they use , but acceptable - much better than a gym. I got in some initial flights with a new mini 3dx (foamy factory), still have some trimming to do, especially after reading Terry Tripp's posting - thanks. This indoor stuff is GREAT!

Yes. A very good venue for indoor flying. The heating system is a make up air unit that takes air from outside, heats it up and fires it into the building. Therefore pressurizing the building and keeping the dome up. The soft dome is great. At one point I saw a plane clip its wing sending it prop first into the soft wall. The plane did a complete 360 and the pilot recovered with no damage. Cool!! The draw back is of coarse the Make up air unit. You can feel the blast 25 yards away. At the end of one flight I was limping my plane back with what power I had left and was coming straight into the pits. I was going quite slow and was about a foot off the ground when I hit the draft of the make up air. I sent me cruising into the pits and slamming into two airplanes. luckily the only damage was a decapitated pilot (Scale pilot not the full size pilot). Did I ever feel like a Jackass. I'm glad people are so understanding.
