Thumbs down Re: Lmao.. R/c Mis-adventures ... Worst Flight Video Ever!

No teasing... just questions...

If you are not a qualified pilot why are you trying to learn on a P51?
This is a high performance airframe, not a trainer.

What radio are you using? A Crawler? ... I'm confused - what is it? All of the controls were wrong. IF you do learn how to fly on this system you will have a lot of bad habits because you are learning totally incorectlly.

Are you a MAAC Member? - if so what are you doing learning to fly in a school field? Without an instructor! What would you do if you actually got airborne? If you hit someone/ something... ?

I know you posted ths as a humourous event - I find it scary.

Re: Lmao.. R/c Mis-adventures ... Worst Flight Video Ever!

As long as you and your significant other are having fun... go for it. Just give it full throttle on takeoff, then once airbourne, throttle back, and I bet you will have better success next time!

What kind of setup to you have on the TX? Is it in mode one?

Cheers

Re: Lmao.. R/c Mis-adventures ... Worst Flight Video Ever!

Yuppers on mode one.. but I have the RDS-8000 "Crawler Version".. adapted to work for rock crawlers.. so the throttle control is switched to the other side. i still have the rudder programmed on the right... but throttle is right stick as well. its no big deal.. and dont think I can switch it. its hard programmed that throttle is on the right.. and yes.. it was a throttle issue I had.. wasnt going fast enough.. It was to funny not to post up this mega fail though.. heh heh.. i still laugh when I watch me tossing it .. after all the pomp and circumstance...lmao

thats karma for ya

Re: Lmao.. R/c Mis-adventures ... Worst Flight Video Ever!

umm ... just curious. Mode 1 Tx? I thought most North American flyers use Mode 2. I kind of missed the rationale for that in the video.

Nevermind .. I just saw the question asked/answered after I posted.

Re: Lmao.. R/c Mis-adventures ... Worst Flight Video Ever!

I hate to say this man but you need a different TX.
Having both sticks that center is not good at all.
How do you have your throttle set?
What happens if you drop your stick to the bottom?
You must have a VERY sensitive throttle.

If you MUST use that TX you may want to remove the throttle spring so that your stick does not center. If you have throttle curves set the throttle so you have 0% at low stick and 100% at full.

PLEASE I'm not trying to preach at you. Its just the combination of plane and TX you have and the experience level you are at do not mix at all.

I don't judge you at all, having fun is the most important part. In all this you must learn a few things and by the video I think you learned a few concepts yourself.

PLAY SAFE!!

Re: Lmao.. R/c Mis-adventures ... Worst Flight Video Ever!

my TX actually has the throttle spring removed. I modded it for the p51d, to have the throttle at the bottom for starting position...

everything was safe folks...
