I've just read the post "What happened to the staff at Pickering Hobbies?" and realized that maybe its time for some formal introductions.

Most of our regulars know us but for those of you new into the hobby or returning to the hobby let me introduce the staff to you:

Brandon- our very skilled mechanic who fixes anything from helicopters to boats to nitro trucks, extremely honest and forthcoming as well as very entertaining and is very into the hobby personally- usually has some of his toys at the shop, put together the Pickering Track and will be continuing on it this spring

Carolyn- our sales manager who has worked in the industry for over 10 years, most of you must know her already! Handles the sales and reordering of product, a constant job, and is responsible for most of the dirty jokes told! Also sports a very retro Grasshopper!

"MOM"- also known as Dianne, owner for almost 21 years and has taught more men about R/C then any other woman we know. Known as "Mom" to most customers and actually receives Christmas gifts from them, she is well loved and respected. She supports and sponsors local races as well as the GLORCS.

Jeff- one of our part-time employees who is also into the hobby from heli's to nitro trucks, he can repair as well as answer any questions you have about r/c's, also involved in the Pickering Track, very friendly and more than helpful

Russel- another one of our part-time employees, started out as a customer, as most do, and is into the hobby. Russel is the English guy with loads of knowledge about electric vehicles. He is a hard worker with a friendly smile. His newest project is an R/C tank.

Don- the newest employee to Pickering Hobbies, he comes to us from Horizon Hobbies in Whitby, he is our resident train specialist. He has over 15 years in the industry and has an excellent following. Although he is a train specialist Don has a varied knowledge of the industry and can help in all areas of the store. Never a friendly guy you will meet!

Heather- And finally me! I've been at Pickering Hobbies for a few years now, worked there when I was younger and now I'm back. I do sales and reordering as well as promotions and races. Most of the time the person on the site under Pickering Hobbies will be me. My boys do the electric R/C and I do nitro with my stock Aftershock, I'm strickly in it for the fun. You've probably seen me around on Race days, I'm the one running around non-stop!

Personally I think our staff is very well-rounded and we work well as a team. Our store atmosphere is very laid back and that is how we like it, we have fun while working, what could be better!

And so in answer to "What happened to the staff at Pickering Hobbies" well we grew and got better and will continue to enjoy working with all of you who have become more family than customers over the past 20 years.

thanks
Heather
