Re: Ever forget your transmitter at home?

Best one I heard of was a guy who left his TX on top of the car. Till he hit the brakes on the way home!

Hey

Then you must know my brother - that is exactly what he did a few years back. Fortunately it all went back together and apart from some serious gravel rash it worked. A great testament to the old Futaba stuff.

BTW - I have indeed left my TX at home, but most recently I arrived at my favourite spot on my way to work last week only to find I had neglected to switch it off the day before so I had to go sit in the local Tims and sulk for a bit.

Have a great weekend

Chris

Re: Ever forget your transmitter at home?

Oh Yeah....
One day wingtube
one day transmitter
another day was fuel

Now before I close the tailgate on the van, I do an inventory of what I am flying that day before I close it.

Smile Re: Ever forget your transmitter at home?

Oh yeah.. Sorry to say, but there is also a set of rules that govern the chances of this happening:
  • It is inversely proportional to how far from home you are.
  • It is directly proportional to how good the weather is.
  • It is most likely to occur when you arrange to meet someone to "show off"
  • It will never occur if someone has a spare one.
  • It will never happen when the gravity gods have decided it is your turn!

In addition:
  • It will always result in scorn from the better half - never sympathy.
  • Some idiot will always ask "Why did you do that?"
  • Some other idiot will tell everyone else they see what you did and use you to show how smart they are as they pack the night before and have checklist that is taped to their car trunk!
  • Any attempt to race home to get it will result in only red traffic lights and cause the wind to howl!
Enuf - but do feel for you..

Re: Ever forget your transmitter at home?

It got so bad I made a check list to go by before I head to the field, and even then I can screw up and forget something!

Re: Ever forget your transmitter at home?

I once brought my lawn mower fuel instead of my airplane fuel. (2 stroke vs 4 stroke.)
