Blade QX and battery usage

I've been flying my Blade QX since last summer and not sure of the amount of flights. There has been occasions where I have drained the battery to the point the quad will find the ground without my consent. Now I'm finding all six batteries are good for three minute flights or less at best, so where is the problem? The QX has brushed motors so can it be the motors are starting to pack it in draining the batteries too soon or are the Turnigy batteries just not all that great? Thanks in advance for the imput.

Re: Blade QX and battery usage

I have a few of the stock batteries (Eflight) and have no issues. Without a camera, the battery warning flashing starts around 10 minutes, then I fly for another minute or two and when I land. I still have 3.78 or so in each cell. I don't have an issue and I have never flown to cutoff and autoland.

Do you see different results using the stock battery?

Re: Blade QX and battery usage

I traded off the batteries that came with it so I'll order some good ones from Rotorquest and see if it's batteries or if the brushed motors are worn out.

Re: Blade QX and battery usage

I will check but if I remember rightly there is only two wires to the motors which would make them brushed.

Re: Blade QX and battery usage

Agreed if there are 2 wires, but my Blade 350 qx motors have 3 wires ... Red, Black and Blue. I have never heard of a Brushed Version of the Blade 350 qx.

Re: Blade QX and battery usage

Perhaps he is talking about the Nano QX or 180QX? Both of which use brushed motors, which have 2 wires going to them

Re: Blade QX and battery usage
